The benefits of anabolic steroids are truly amazing and life changing and have a place of use not only for athletes but for many every day gym rats who simply want to look and feel better than they do without steroids. We can greatly increase strength, increase lean muscle mass and increase performance capabilities within our given sport. Further, through the use of anabolic steroids we can greatly stave off many of the negative effects of aging such as a decreased libido, erectile dysfunction and even fat gain. As they are generally known to promote both muscle and strength gains they also greatly aid in fighting body-fat gain and the reduction of already existing fat. If that’s not enough it gets even better; they have been proven to have a positive effect on our mental state, greatly increasing our general sense of well-being as well as increasing mental capacity and even increasing energy, both physical and mental.
The bottom line is simple; for athletic purposes they can increase our speed, give us more power to perform and in-general create a more superior athlete than without steroid use. For the gym rat or simple every day guy who is not involved in an actual sport we can simply create a more pleasing physique, one we can be proud of thereby increasing not only our confidence in life but often lending to a higher quality of life as well. However, there is something you must understand and we would be misguided if we left this out; anabolic steroids are very powerful hormones and must be treated with respect. If steroids are something you wish to consider it is of the utmost importance you consult with your doctor to insure you are healthy enough for use. Those who suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol or liver problems will in most cases need to get this under control before use is undertaken.
However, for the healthy adult male who educates himself and couples his education with responsible use, he will find anabolic steroids to be a truly life changing in every positive way life can be improved.
There are few topics as simultaneously controversial and largely misunderstood as steroids. From a multitude of sources most form an opinion based on an emotional response rather than actual factual data and evidence but it’s easy to understand why; after all, we’ve been conditioned to form such a response simply on the basis of how they are perceived. This is evident in a number of ways but basic understanding of what steroids are or a lack thereof will often bring forth an emotional opinion. For example, what many fail to realize is that they are a broad category of hormones and anabolic steroids are only part of the total family; of course they are most discussed but most cannot distinguish corticosteroids from their anabolic cousins. Even so, of all the steroids and steroid forms of which there are hundreds of forms found in nature we want to focus on one, anabolic steroids; after all, that’s the reason you’re here.
The general consensus is steroids are bad, it will kill you and you’re an evil monster if you use them. This has long been the general opinion given by the media and governments such as in the U.S. However, with over 6 million adults in the U.S. alone who use them every year we can safely say that sentiment is not shared by all. There’s no doubt about it and we would be remiss if we ignored this fact, anabolic steroids do carry with them the possibility of negative side-effects but the key word is “possibility” and they are by no means guaranteed. Even so, with responsible use study after study has shown the benefits far outweigh the negative aspects when used by healthy adult males; again, we must reiterate responsibly. One of the most prominent and thorough studies on Testosterone use by the New England Journal of Medicine easily lends to this conclusion. (N Engl J Med 1996; 335:1-7July 4, 1996)
